PROPECIA:
Questions & Answers

What should I expect?
Propecia works in about 3 months
Hair grows very slowly, about half an inch a month. Most men begin to see the first benefit of Propecia, slowing of hair loss, as early as 3 months, and after 6 months begin to experience regrowth. Generally you will not grow back all the hair you've lost.

Propecia works over the long term only with continued use
Hair loss, if left untreated, usually gets worse and worse. In two-year clinical studies, most men who took Propecia increased the number of scalp hairs in the first year, with the effect maintained in the second year.

Visible results continued to get better with continued use. You will likely lose any hair gained within 12 months of stopping treatment. If Propecia has not worked for you in 12 months, further treatment is unlikely to be of benefit.

Why Propecia is effective?
Propecia blocks the formation of DHT
Doctors believe that excess DHT in the scalp is an apparent cause of hair loss.

Propecia lowers the amount of DHT in the scalp and serum. (The relative contributions of these reductions to the treatment effect of Propecia have not been defined.)

What else I need to Know?
Side effects from Propecia were uncommon and did not affect most men
In clinical studies, a small number of men experienced one or more of the following side effects: less desire for sex, difficulty in achieving an erection and a decrease in the amount of semen. Each of these side effects occurred in less than 2% of men. These side effects were reversible and went away in men who stopped taking Propecia. They also disappeared in most men (58%) who continued taking Propecia.

Propecia is for use in MEN ONLY
Women who are or may potentially be pregnant must not us Propecia and should not handle crushed or broken tablets because the active ingredient may cause abnormalities of a male baby's sex organs.

How do I take Propecia?
Propecia is EASY to take
Take one pill each day. With or without food. At any time of day.
Propecia can affect a blood test called PSA. If you have a PSA test done, you should tell your doctor that you are taking Propecia.

No matter how busy your life, it's easy to make Propecia part of your daily routine.
